More than 10 years ago, I started working in international business in Russia. I worked with Finnish companies as an accountant and also owned an international consulting company assisting Finnish businessmen to establish business ties in Russia.  The Russian market is very attractive because of its many possibilities and because it is not as competitive as the American and European markets.  Labor costs in Russia are significantly cheaper in comparison with America and the developed European countries.            

The pros are significant and numerous.

But what is about the cons?

The main problem is the lack of business information. Flying to Russia without certain knowledge on how business is run there is a one way trip to insanity. The local government is not very friendly when it comes to releasing information on local trade secrets.
